Do Android photos show location? Remove it before you share

Short answer
Do Android photos show where they were taken? They can. A photo file can carry the spot where you took it, and the location goes along when you send the file. Open Stripix, tap Clean metadata and pick your photos. You see what each one carries, then remove the location only or everything, on your phone. Remove location from photos shows the tool at a glance.
Check where a photo was taken, then remove it
Stripix shows what each photo carries before anything changes.
- Open Stripix and tap Clean metadata, then select photos in the photo picker. Or select them in your gallery or Files, tap Share and pick Clean metadata under Stripix.
- The Privacy report counts what the photos carry: Location, Device model, Camera settings, Date and time, Software and Author / copyright.
- Choose Remove location only or Remove everything, then tap Clean 3 photos (the button counts your photos) or Clean & save to Gallery.
- After Clean 3 photos, keep the clean copies with Save 3 to Gallery, Save to Files or Share.

GPS removal is free for single photos. Batches and full metadata removal are Pro. Nothing leaves your phone.
Good to know: what else a photo shares
Location is the part most people worry about, but it isn’t alone. The privacy report in Stripix also counts the device model, camera settings, the date and time, the software that made or edited it, and any author or copyright line. Remove location only keeps the dates and camera info, which is handy for your own albums. Remove everything is the better choice before you post publicly. With Custom you pick the fields yourself. The report is made on your phone, and coordinates are never sent anywhere.
Stripix saves the clean copies in a Stripix album. The photo in your Camera album keeps its location unless you delete it, so send the copy.
Questions
Does the photo look any different afterwards?
No. Metadata lives outside the image data. The pixels are untouched.
Do Instagram, WhatsApp or eBay strip GPS for me?
Most large platforms do, but email, Telegram 'as file' and many marketplaces don't. Assume no.
Can I get the location back later?
Yes. Stripix saves a clean copy and leaves your original as it is, location included, unless you delete it.
Can I just check my photos without changing them?
Yes. The privacy report only reads the metadata. Nothing changes until you tap Clean or Clean & save to Gallery.
Does Stripix upload my photos?
No. Everything runs on your phone. The app has no servers and no account, and the photo picker gives it only the photos you select.
