Short answer

Do photos show where they were taken? They can. What your iPhone shares with a photo can include the spot where you took it. Open Stripix, tap Clean metadata and pick your photos. You see what each one carries, then remove the location only or everything, on your iPhone. Remove location from photos shows the tool at a glance.

Check where a photo was taken, then remove it

Photos can drop the location from a photo or from a single share, but the camera model and date stay in place.

  1. Open Stripix and pick photos, or share them to Stripix from Photos.
  2. Tap Clean metadata. You’ll see exactly what each photo carries: location, device, lens and date.
  3. Choose Remove location only or Remove everything, then save.

GPS removal is free for single photos. Batches and full metadata removal are Pro. Nothing leaves your iPhone.

Good to know: what else a photo shares

Location is the part most people worry about, but it isn’t alone. The privacy report in Stripix also counts the device model, camera settings, the date and time, the software that made or edited it, and any author or copyright line. Remove location only keeps the dates and camera info, which is handy for your own albums. Remove everything is the better choice before you post publicly. With Custom you pick the fields yourself. The report is made on your iPhone, and coordinates are never sent anywhere.

Questions

Does the photo look any different afterwards?

No. Metadata lives outside the image data. The pixels are untouched.

Do Instagram, WhatsApp or eBay strip GPS for me?

Most large platforms do, but email, Files, AirDrop, Telegram 'as file' and many marketplaces don't. Assume no.

Can I get the location back later?

Yes. Stripix saves a clean copy and leaves your original as it is, location included.

Can I just check my photos without changing them?

Yes. The privacy report only reads the metadata. Nothing changes until you tap Clean & save to Photos or Clean & Share.

Does Stripix upload my photos?

No. Everything runs on your iPhone. The app has no servers and no account.
